CM Siddaramaiah announces Rs 1 crore for the school from which SSLC topper Ankita hails

In the recently announced result of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations, Ankita from the Morarji Desai Residential School in Bagalkot was the topper, having secured 625 of 625 marks. She was felicitated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Navneeth K.R from the Morarji School in Mandya was also felicitated on this occasion. He had secured the third rank in the examination. He held the ‘Annihilation of Caste’ book written by Bhimrao Ambedkar while posing for a photograph along with CM Siddaramaiah. CM Siddaramaiah wished for them to be blessed with more academic success in the future. The felicitation took place at CM Siddaramiah’s residence ‘Kaveri.’ 

Ankita was also rewarded with Rs 5 lakh each in order to ensure quality education in the future. Navneeth received Rs 3 lakh. The schools Ankita and Navneeth hailed from, received Rs 1 crore and Rs 50 lakh respectively to aid developmental works.

Siddarmaiah talked about how he had conceived of the Morarji Desai Residential schools, the foundational stone for which was laid in 1994. Ankita talked about how she was inspired by Siddaramaiah’s achievements and words. Ankita has aspirations of becoming an Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer in the future.
