CM Siddaramaiah holds meeting with DG-IGP and Bengaluru Police Commissioner in light of Neha Hiremath’s murder

The broad daylight murder of Neha Hiremath has sent shockwaves across Karnataka. Outrage against the perpetrator is being seen on a large scale. The Karnataka State Government has taken note of the situation. 

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has called a meeting with the Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG IGP) for Karnataka Alok Mohan and Bengaluru Police Commissioner B.Dayananda in light of this tragedy. The meeting extended up to a period of one hour. An intense discussion about the case was held. The police officials provided an update regarding the case to the Chief Minister. The police officials were asked to take stringent measures against the accused in this case. The need to ensure that no untoward incident occurs as a result of this incident was noted. Preventive measures to be taken in order to ensure peace were discussed.

The Akhila Bharatha Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) took out a rally demanding justice for the victim. Protests also erupted in the Belagavi district from where Fayaaz, the perpetrator hails. The attack was captured on a CCTV camera. Neha was stabbed 11 times. Fayaaz has currently been apprehended by the police. Neha’s parents are distraught upon having lost their child.
