Today, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah officially launched a fleet of 100 new “Ashwamedha” buses operated by the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC).

These buses are specifically designated to ply the Bengaluru to Mysuru route, enhancing connectivity between the two cities. The inauguration ceremony, held in front of the Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru, saw the presence of key officials, including the state’s Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy.

Aside from serving the Bengaluru to Mysuru route, some of these buses will also cater to the Hunsur to Bengaluru and K.R. Nagar to Bengaluru routes, expanding their reach and facilitating transportation for more commuters.

Characterized by a height of 3.42 meters and a unique “bucket type” design featuring 52 seats, the “Ashwamedha” buses are part of a conceptualized travel theme. The fare for this service will remain unchanged, emphasizing affordability and convenience for frequent travelers between the cities.

Notably, the buses boast spacious interiors, tinted glasses, LED lights, LED route displays, self-closing doors, and an emergency door-opening button.

These features contribute to an enhanced travel experience, promoting comfort and safety for passengers. Overall, the introduction of the “Ashwamedha” buses signifies a step forward in improving public transportation in Karnataka.
