In a swift response to a wave of concern circulating on social media regarding a child’s severe illness in Halehalli village, Chikkaballapur district, the Karnataka state government took immediate action. The child’s parents, desperate for help, turned to social media to seek assistance, prompting a quick response from the authorities.
The issue was promptly flagged by the Special Duty Officers of the Grievance Department at the Chief Minister’s Office, with Dr. K Vaishnavi taking the lead in directing local authorities to intervene urgently.
Following Dr. Vaishnavi’s directive, a multi-disciplinary team was dispatched to the child’s residence in Halehalli village. The team comprised Taluk Medical Officers, members of the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) Team-1, Child Development Project Officers, Women Supervisors, Revenue Inspectors and Village Administration Officers.
They ensured the child was promptly transported to Indira Gandhi Children’s Hospital in Bengaluru for specialized medical care. As a result of this swift action, the child underwent a comprehensive medical evaluation at the hospital and the Revenue Inspector of Munchenahalli Hobli stated that supplementary treatment would be provided to the child based on the health report.
