Another round of confrontation between the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)- Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)) alliance has started in Karnataka. The alliance partners have planned a procession against allegations of misappropriation of funds in the Valmiki Development Corporation and irregularities in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA). INC has come up with a strategy to counter the protests.
The schedule for the procession has been prepared. The procession will commence on August 3rd. The procession will take place along the Bengaluru-Mysuru pathway for a period of 7 days. National leaders are also expected to join the alliance partners in their procession.
The issue was also raised during the monsoon session of the Vidhana Sabha. The opposition has attempted to point fingers at CM Siddaramaiah through the accusations of irregularities in MUDA.
INC has planned conventions coinciding with the procession. This conventions will take place in all districts and Taluk centres in the city. This decision was taken at CM Siddaramaiah’s residence. A meeting with other cabinet ministers took place for 2 hours. The convention is being planned on a grand scale. The convention is expected to have an attendance of more than 3 lakh people.
