At the Cyber Crimes Conclave 2024, a panel discussion on the same was held.
On the panel were actor Sapthami Gowda, Karthik Bappanad, Centre Head, CySecK, Prasad Bidapa, Fashion Stylist and Choreographer, Jai Thomas, Vice President – IT Infra & Operations, VerSe Innovation, and Nandini Damti, Theatre Artist, Model took part.
Batting for empathy and laying the stress on morality, Sapthami Gowda touched upon the need to step into the shoes of the person who is being targeted.
She said, “We as celebrities are easily available to everyone. The line between our professional and personal lives is very thin. Be empathetic. Would you be okay if something came out that was regarding your life? If someone left a comment on your picture? We have a quality that robots do not have – that is empathy. That human touch should not be lost.”

On such issues, Nandini Damti, said, “The misuse of images and online harassment of women, including high-profile figures like Rashmika Mandana and Taylor Swift, is a serious and long-standing problem. This type of violation erodes privacy and disrespects the rights of all women. We must combat these actions to create a safer online space for everyone.”
