Suhani Bhatnagar, renowned for her role as young Babita Kumari Phogat in Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’, passed away in Delhi on February 17 at the age of 19.
As per reports, she succumbed to side effects from medication administered for a leg fracture. Confirmation of her demise was issued by Aamir Khan’s production house via an Instagram post expressing deep sorrow and extending condolences to her family.
They said, “We are deeply saddened to hear about our Suhani passing away. Our heartfelt condolences to her mother Poojaji, and the entire family. Such a talented young girl, such a team player, Dangal would have been incomplete without Suhani.” Suhani, you will always remain a star in our hearts May you rest in peace (sic).”
The actor was under treatment at AIIMS hospital in Delhi for a prolonged period of time, which perhaps indicated health struggles prior to her death. Although initial reports suggest medication complications leading to fluid retention, we are yet to get an official confirmation. Suhani’s last rites are scheduled for Saturday. Her portrayal in ‘Dangal’ garnered her widespread recognition, and she was also featured in several commercials, becoming a familiar face in Indian households.
