In a shocking incident in Delhi, a 54-year-old man, Rang Lal, allegedly murdered his 29-year-old son, Gaurav Singhal, a gym trainer, on the night of February 6-7.
And the motive?
As per police statements, it was to teach his estranged wife a lesson. The accused had meticulously planned the murder over a period of three to four months.
Gaurav Singhal was found brutally stabbed multiple times in his south Delhi home just hours before his scheduled wedding. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he was declared dead. The accused fled the scene immediately after committing the crime and was subsequently apprehended in Jaipur.
During interrogation, it was revealed that Rang Lal had harboured resentment towards his son due to his extravagant lifestyle and disobedience.
The modus operandi
He allegedly hired three associates and paid them Rs 75,000 to carry out the murder discreetly. Despite showing no remorse, Rang Lal confessed to his actions, citing frustration over his wife’s support for their son.
Upon his arrest, police recovered gold ornaments worth Rs 50 lakh and Rs 15 lakh in cash from the accused, which he had taken with him while fleeing the crime scene.
