The wife and brother of Sandalwood actor Darshan also referred to as the Challenging Star, Vijayalakshmi and Dinakar met the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka DK Shivakumar at his residence in Ramanagara. In an interaction with the press after the meeting, DK Shivakumar threw light on what was discussed with Vijayalakshmi. “Vijaylakshmi had to come to meet me yesterday. I could not meet her at that point of time. I asked her to come to my home today. I had given a seat for her child in my school. She requested me to have him admitted to my school. I assured her that I would talk to the principal,” DK Shivakumar said.

DK Shivakumar affirmed that the Renukaswamy murder case due to which Darshan is languishing behind bars was not discussed during the meeting. “Vijayalakshmi did not talk about the case. I cannot interfere. If there are problems, they have to be handled legally. Youngsters in my district had raised slogans. They were talking about some boss. I am not aware of any boss. I do not follow what is being broadcast in the media. Each channel has something different to say. I am not the Home Minister,” DK Shivakumar added. Darshan fans are reported to have shouted ‘DBoss’ slogans during DK Shivakumar’s speech at the Chamundeshwari Karaga Mahotsava which was held on July 23rd.
