And once they do that, they seduce you into investing it using their sugary talks. They will impress upon you and convince you that you can earn crores in returns if you invest at the right time.
And once you show keen interest, the fraudsters will smartly ask you for your phone numbers. Later, they ask you to invest in their franchises. With no idea that you are being cheated, you will be ready to invest a huge sum of money. As part of their ploy, one of their representatives will call you up. Again, they will goad you in investing with the false talks that they are ready to open a herbal franchise in India. And when you fall in the trap, you would be investing all your hard earned money there.
In the name of registration, they will fleece you of lakhs of rupees. Later on, they will send you pictures of their herbal life products. They will also send you phoney documents of non-existing companies. Once you are convinced that they are genuine, you are also asked to cough up more money. Interestingly, you will also get calls from fake airport authorities saying that your products have arrived at the customs. Using this ploy, they will ask you to pay up more money as taxes. In this way, they keep asking you to cough up more and more money using different ideas. And by the time you realise you are in for a ride, you would have lost all your money!
How to protect yourself?
When you get social media messages about business opportunities, don’t react. Also, don’t share business details with people who are unknown to you. At the same time, it is always advisable not to honour business invitations. Remember, if you are fed stories in which you are made to believe that you can earn big in a small period of time, don’t trust them. Lastly, don’t transfer money online.
