Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dunki has been released in theatres on December 21st. The response so far would be very encouraging for its makers. Instances walking out of the theatres with tear-filled eyes have been witnessed.

After the marvellous success of the Atlee-directorial Jawan Shahrukh has stamped his presence in the box office with Dunki. This film was helmed by director Rajkumar Hirani. The anticipation for this film was very high and this was witnessed even through the figures that emerged from the advanced bookings. The film earned Rs 10.26 crore from its advanced bookings after a sale of 360508 tickets for 12608 shows. The audience seemed pleased at the fruits borne by their patience right from the first show of the first day. They had to compose themselves before interacting with the media outside the theatres.

Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, the film also stars Tapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, Vicky Kaushal, Nitesh Shah among other actors. A group of friends undergoing economic distress embark on a journey to a foreign country. Their struggles to return to India is what forms the crux of the story.

The responses have however not been unilaterally positive. “I am disappointed. I had a lot of expectations from Rajkumar Hirani. The humour and writing is stale. I am a Shah Rukh Khan fan but the film has not been satisfactory,” a fan said. Vicky Kaushal’s performance has been garnering limelight.
