After his reported marriage cancellation with RCB captain Smriti Mandhana, music composer Palash Muchhal is now facing allegations of cheating linked to a film investment deal in Sangli district.
Music composer Palash Muchhal has found himself at the centre of another controversy, with allegations of financial cheating emerging from Maharashtra’s Sangli district. The case comes months after reports of his marriage being called off with RCB captain Smriti Mandhana.
A complaint has been filed by Vidyanyan Mane, a resident of Sangli district, accusing Palash Muchhal of cheating him of ₹40 lakh in the name of film production. The complaint has been submitted to the Superintendent of Police, Sangli district, following which the local police have begun a preliminary investigation.
According to the complaint, Palash Muchhal and Vidyanyan Mane first met on December 5, 2023. During this meeting, Mane reportedly expressed interest in investing in film production. Palash Muchhal is said to have proposed investment in his upcoming film titled “Nazariya.”
The complainant has alleged that Palash assured him that the film would be released on OTT platforms and promised high returns. Mane was reportedly told that an investment of ₹25 lakh would fetch profits of ₹12 lakh after release. In addition to financial returns, Palash Muchhal allegedly also offered an acting role to Vidyanyan Mane in the same film.
Trusting these assurances, the complainant met Palash Muchhal on two occasions and transferred a total of ₹40 lakh towards the film’s production. However, the film was allegedly never completed, and no progress was shown even after a considerable period.
When Mane demanded his money back, he claims that no response was received from Palash Muchhal. After repeated attempts failed, the complainant decided to approach the police, alleging that he was deliberately misled and financially cheated.

Further action will be taken based on the findings of the preliminary investigation, police sources said.
