Actress Sreeleela graduates as a doctor while starring in South Indian blockbusters, balancing medicine and cinema with inspiring success
Actress Sreeleela has added another remarkable achievement to her journey, officially graduating with a medical degree while continuing to star in blockbuster films. The 23‑year‑old, who has balanced her dual passions for medicine and cinema, received her diploma at DY Patil Medical College’s convocation ceremony on Tuesday night.
A video from the event, showing her in graduation robes with a red scarf and cap, quickly went viral on social media. The radiant smile on her face captured the joy of completing a demanding academic path while simultaneously building a flourishing film career.
Sreeleela began her medical studies in 2020, just as her acting career was gaining momentum. While her peers immersed themselves in anatomy and clinical practice, she was also memorizing scripts, rehearsing dance sequences, and shooting films late into the night. Her ability to juggle both worlds has drawn admiration from fans and peers alike.
Born in Detroit and raised in Bengaluru, Sreeleela comes from a medical family. Her mother, Dr. Swarnalatha, is a respected gynecologist and infertility specialist. Inspired by her mother’s dedication, Sreeleela has often said she always wanted to be a doctor—a dream now realized.

Her cinematic journey began as a child artist, with her lead debut in the Kannada film Kiss in 2019. Since then, she has delivered a string of successful performances in films such as Pelli SandaD, Dhamaka, Bhagavanth Kesari, Guntur Kaaram, Junior, and the highly anticipated Pushpa 2: The Rule.
Even as she celebrates her medical milestone, Sreeleela shows no signs of slowing down in cinema. She is currently working on several high‑profile projects across South Indian film industries, showcasing her versatility and determination.
