Unauthorized banners put up for actor Yash’s birthday on public property in central Bengaluru have led to a police case under the Karnataka Open Place Disfigurement Act.

A case has been registered against a few individuals for illegally installing large banners and buntings bearing the portrait of actor Yash on public property in Bengaluru.

The issue came to light on January 9 after Pujarappa, Assistant Engineer of the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA), Vasanthnagar sub-division, received a phone call from the GBA Chief Commissioner. During the call, the commissioner informed him that he had noticed large banners while travelling from Basaveshwara Circle to Windsor Manor Circle.

Following this information, Pujarappa, along with the Assistant Executive Engineer, conducted a spot inspection. During the inspection, officials found that buntings and banners featuring actor Yash had been installed on the wall of the Golf Club. The banners were reportedly erected as part of the actor’s birthday celebrations.

According to the complaint, the banners were put up by GS Creation and Venu Group. It was stated that no permission had been obtained from any competent authority or the civic body before installing the hoardings.

The complaint further noted that the act violated rules governing the use of public spaces and amounted to defacement of public property. Based on this complaint, the High Grounds police registered a case under the Karnataka Open Place Disfigurement Act.
