Veteran actor Dharmendra, aged 89, has been hospitalised in Mumbai due to severe breathing issues. His daughter Esha Deol has shared an update on his health, urging fans to stay calm and pray for his recovery.
Bollywood veteran Dharmendra, one of India’s most celebrated film stars, has been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai after facing severe breathing difficulties. The 89-year-old actor, known for his charm and versatility, is currently reported to be in critical but stable condition, under constant medical supervision.
Hospital sources revealed that Dharmendra has been battling age-related health complications for some time and was rushed to the hospital after his condition worsened. Doctors are closely monitoring his respiratory function and overall health parameters.

Soon after news of his hospitalisation spread, his daughter and actor Esha Deol took to Instagram to share an update, requesting fans not to panic. In her message, she wrote that her father is “ stable and recovering” and asked everyone to “ give their family privacy.” The post has since gone viral, drawing thousands of comments from fans and industry colleagues wishing for his speedy recovery.
Dharmendra, fondly known as Bollywood’s He-Man, has been a beloved presence in Indian cinema for over six decades. With a career spanning more than 300 films, he became a household name through iconic performances in classics like Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Seeta Aur Geeta, and Dharam Veer.
Even in his late 80s, Dharmendra continued to act, with his recent appearance in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ (2023) earning praise from audiences. He is also set to feature in ‘Ikkis’, an upcoming film starring Agastya Nanda, scheduled for release on December 25.
The actor, who married Bollywood icon Hema Malini in 1980, is the father of popular actors Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, both of whom are currently by his side at the hospital.
