Music composer and singer Palash Muchhal has moved court with a ₹10 crore defamation notice after Marathi actor-producer Vidnyan Mane accused him of financial cheating and personal misconduct.

Music composer and singer Palash Muchhal has once again found himself in the spotlight, this time due to a legal battle following serious allegations made against him. Muchhal, who was recently in the news after reports emerged about his wedding with Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana being called off, has now filed a ₹10 crore defamation case against Marathi actor and producer Vidnyan Mane.

The legal move comes after Vidnyan Mane alleged that he was cheated of ₹40 lakh by Palash Muchhal and also accused him of being unfaithful to Smriti Mandhana before their marriage. Palash has strongly denied these claims and termed them false and defamatory.

On Saturday evening, Palash took to Instagram to publicly announce the legal action. In his post, he stated that his lawyer, Shreyansh Mithare, has sent a defamation notice worth ₹10 crore to Sangli-based Vidnyan Mane for what he described as “false, outrageous and highly defamatory accusations” made with the intent to damage his reputation and character.

The controversy began a few days ago when, 34-year-old Vidnyan Mane approached the police in Maharashtra’s Sangli district. In his complaint, Mane alleged that Palash cheated him financially in connection with a film project. However, police officials have confirmed that no First Information Report (FIR) has been registered in the case so far.

As per the complaint, Mane claimed that he met Palash Muchhal in Sangli on December 5, 2023. During their meeting, Mane expressed interest in investing in film production. Palash allegedly suggested that Mane invest in his upcoming project titled Nazariya as a producer. Mane was reportedly told that an investment of ₹25 lakh would yield a profit of ₹12 lakh after the film’s release on OTT platforms. Palash also allegedly offered Mane a role in the film.

The two reportedly met on two more occasions, and Mane claimed that he paid a total of ₹40 lakh to Palash by March 2025. However, the project was allegedly never completed. When Mane sought a refund, he claimed that he received no response, prompting him to approach the Sangli police. Along with financial allegations, Mane also accused Palash of cheating on Smriti Mandhana before their marriage.
