Prahlad Kakar clears the air on Aishwarya Rai-Abhishek Bachchan divorce rumours

Celebrity neighbour and filmmaker Prahlad Kakar puts an end to speculation, explaining Aishwarya Rai’s frequent visits to her mother’s home and why the couple is still very much together.

The internet has been buzzing with speculation about trouble in paradise for Bollywood’s golden couple, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan. But filmmaker and ad guru Prahlad Kakar, who also happens to be Aishwarya’s neighbour, has firmly put those rumours to rest.

In a candid chat with Vickey Lalwani, Kakar revealed that Aishwarya’s regular visits to her mother’s residence have nothing to do with marital issues. “Her mother has not been keeping well. Aishwarya drops her daughter Aaradhya to school, spends time with her mother, and then picks her up. That’s it. She doesn’t stay there. People blew it out of proportion,” Kakar clarified.

Addressing claims of tension with Jaya and Shweta Bachchan, he said, “So what if she spends time at her mother’s? She is still the bahu of the house and runs it. Sometimes Abhishek even comes along. Why would he come if there was trouble?”

The couple, who tied the knot in April 2007 and welcomed daughter Aaradhya in 2011, has kept their private life away from the limelight. They have never responded to rumours, preferring to let their dignified public appearances together speak for themselves.

Speculation about a rift gained momentum last year when Aishwarya and Aaradhya arrived separately for Anant Ambani’s wedding celebrations, fueling gossip about a separation. But with Kakar’s confirmation, fans can breathe easy knowing that one of Bollywood’s most beloved couples is still going strong.
