Sunny Deol unveils first poster of Border 2 on Independence Day, sets release for January 2026

Bollywood actor Sunny Deol chose the occasion of India’s 79th Independence Day to reveal the first poster of his upcoming film Border 2, the sequel to the 1997 war drama Border. The announcement came with the tagline, “Hindustan ke liye ladenge... phir ek baar!” (We will fight for India… once again).

The poster features Sunny in full military gear, holding a bazooka with a determined expression, symbolising the film’s patriotic theme. The makers also confirmed the release date January 22, 2026 just ahead of Republic Day weekend.

Border 2 boasts a star-studded cast 

Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 boasts a star-studded cast including Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty,Mona Singh and Sonam Bajwa. Produced by Bhushan Kumar the film aims to recreate the emotional impact of the original while connecting with a new generation of viewers.

Producer Bhushan Kumar stressed Border as more than just a film “an emotion for every Indian.” Director Anurag Singh noted releasing the poster on Independence Day was intentional as the day reflects the same spirit of sacrifice and patriotism that the film represents.

With its high-profile cast ,symbolic release date and emotional legacy Border 2 is set to be one of the most anticipated releases of 2026.
