Former Bengaluru police commissioner Bhaskar Rao has survived a harrowing road accident that left him with multiple fractures, including ribs and vertebrae. The ex-top cop recounted the terrifying incident in a social media post, revealing that his SUV toppled three times during the crash.

The accident took place recently while Rao was traveling between Anantapur and Kadri in Andhra Pradesh. His Toyota Innova Hybrid Hycross narrowly avoided a head-on collision with a truck but ended up brushing against it severely, causing the SUV to roll over three times. One occupant, identified as Venky, sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the ICU, while Rao and two others, Kiranna and Babu, escaped with relatively minor injuries.

Rao took to social media to share his ordeal and express gratitude for surviving the accident. He commended the efficiency of a remote government health center in Bathpally, where the injured were initially treated before being transferred to Anantapur for further medical care.

Praising the Andhra Pradesh government for its effective healthcare services, Rao highlighted the prompt response and assistance provided by the medical staff at the health center. Despite the severity of the accident, he emphasized the importance of seatbelts and airbags in saving lives.
