AAP to contest all 14 seats in Punjab

INC had better vote tally than AAP in 2019 Lok Sabha election

AAP emerged victorious in municipal election

The Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) has faced another roadblock with regard to seat sharing arrangements ahead of the Lok Sabha Election. Earlier Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) founder Arvind Kejriwal had announced that the party would contest on all 14 Lok Sabha seats in the state of Punjab. “Two years back, you gave us blessings. You gave 92 out of 117 seats to us in the Assembly elections, you created history in Punjab. I have come to you with folded hands, asking for one more blessing. Lok Sabha elections will be held in two months. For Lok Sabha elections, Punjab has 13 seats and one from Chandigarh – a total of 14 seats. In the next 10-15 days, AAP will declare its candidates in all of these 14 seats. You have to make AAP sweep all these 14 seats with a majority,” he said. This development was in light of the BJP winning the Chandigarh mayor election amidst rigging charges.

In Delhi however, AAP  has offered the Indian National Congress (INC) 1 among the 7 Lok Sabha seats. “On a merit basis, the Congress party does not deserve even a single seat in Delhi but keeping in mind the ‘dharma of alliance’ we are offering them one seat in Delhi. We propose the Congress party to fight on 1 seat and AAP on 6 seats,In 2019,” AAP Member of Parliament Sandeep Pathak said. INC had outperformed AAP in terms of vote share by 4.4% despite not having secured any seat. AAP However emerged victorious in the state election and the municipal election.
