Blasts took place at an interval of 10 seconds

Blasts carried out to create maximum destruction

Police have recovered as many as 7 bolts from the blasts site

With hours passing since the Rameshwaram Cafe blasts this afternoon, more and more shocking information is coming out. The blasts took place at an interval of 10 seconds and was carried out to create maximum destruction. As the investigations continue, the police have recovered as many as 7 bolts from the blasts site.

This points to the fact that it was an improvised explosive device (IED) blasts. But why were the bolts used?

Speaking exclusively to NewsFirst Prime, Dr Dinesh Rao, a forensics expert says, “Presence of bolts confirms it is an IED attack. Such an attack can’t be done in an untrained manner. The timing of the blast is also evidence enough about the motive. The use of bolts in the blast is to increase impact and create more destruction. The bolts act as small bullets.”

Rameshwaram Cafe is visited by around 4000 people on a daily basis. The visitors are dominated by techies. The move to carry out blasts in a densely populated area further emphasises the motive to inflict maximum casualties.

Even as we file this report, an FIR has been lodged at the HAL police station. The NIA is all set to take over the probe.
