Gujarat: Fire outbreak in gaming zone results in 27 deaths including 4 children

The outbreak of fire at the TRP Gaming Zone in Rajkot, Gujarat has resulted in the death of 27 people including 4 children. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed. The team is expected to submit a report on the incident within 3 days. “Our first priority is that…as per the information we have, one person is still missing and it is our responsibility to look for the person. We are deploying maximum teams for that,” Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi said. 

Various leaders reacted to this tragedy. “The news of a fire in a gaming zone in a mall resulting in the death of several people including children is disheartening. I express my condolences to all the affected people. I hope those who are injured in the incident receive medical aid and experience a recovery in their health. I request Indian National Congress (INC) workers to aid in the rescue and relief operations. I request the Gujarat government and administration to conduct a detailed and unbiased inquiry into the incident to provide justice to grieving families,” Rahul Gandhi stated on the microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter). A similar such incident also surfaced in Delhi within hours of the tragedy in Gujarat.
