Hanagal gang rape survivor currently in a precarious state of health

Police took over investigation on Jan 14, Santwana Kendra seeks cooperation

Legal Services Authority has also sent a letter on behalf of the victim

The survivor of the Hanagal gang rape case is currently in a precarious state of health, as disclosed by Parima Jain, the head of Santwana Kendra, in an exclusive statement to NewsFirst Prime.

Having spent two days at Haveri’s Santwana Kendra (Rehabilitation Centre ), the victim has undergone counseling and received support, but her severe injuries necessitate two to three more days of rest and medical treatment.

The police took over the investigation on January 14, with Santwana Kendra promptly informing them about the victim’s health challenges, urging cooperation.

In response to the injustice faced by the survivor, Santwana Kendra, along with the Women’s Department and Sakhi Legal Advisor, submitted an application.

The Legal Services Authority also sent a letter on behalf of the victim, signaling a commitment to pursuing justice through legal avenues. Parima Jain expressed optimism, stating that relief for the survivor is anticipated within a week.

It is crucial to note that the approach taken by Santwana Kendra differs from the government’s solution, emphasizing the initiation of compensation proceedings under the Department of Women and Child Welfare.

This multi-pronged effort underscores a collective commitment to addressing the survivor’s needs and seeking justice through both legal and bureaucratic channels.
