Haryana buffalo valued at ₹23 crore becomes star attraction across India

A Haryana-based buffalo named Anmol, valued at an astonishing ₹23 crore, has been capturing attention at major agricultural fairs such as the Pushkar Mela and the All-India Farmers' Fair in Meerut, according to reports. Weighing 1,500 kg, Anmol's impressive size, exceptional pedigree, and breeding potential have made it a social media sensation.

Maintaining Anmol's health and physique comes at a significant daily cost. Its owner, Gill, spends approximately ₹1,500 per day on a specialised diet that includes 250 grams of almonds, 30 bananas, 4 kg of pomegranates, 5 kg of milk, and 20 eggs. Additional nutritional items like oil cake, ghee, green fodder, soybeans, and corn further enrich its menu. To keep its coat glossy, Anmol receives baths twice daily and is treated with a mix of almond and mustard oil.

Anmol's true value lies in its breeding capabilities. The buffalo's semen, collected twice weekly, is highly sought after by breeders. Despite receiving numerous lucrative offers, Gill has no plans to sell Anmol, viewing it as a cherished family member. In fact, he once sold Anmol’s mother and sister to sustain the buffalo's high upkeep.
