  • BJP and JDS have alleged bias from SIT
  • SIT is looking for ways to nab Prajwal
  • MB Patil called this an attempt to get a clean chit

The obscene videos supposedly featuring National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate for the 2024 Lok Sabha Election from Hassan Prajwal Revanna has become a matter of fierce political contestation ever since the formation of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) by the Karnataka State Government for investigating the issue. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)) have raised issues pertaining to the conduct of the SIT in this case. A demand for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) enquiry is being made.  The Indian National Congress (INC) on the other hand have responded with a set of allegations against the NDA partners from their end.

The  SIT is looking for ways to zero in on the location of Prajwal who is reported to have left the country in light of the videos surfacing in the public domain. However the BJP and JDS have alleged bias in the ongoing proceedings over issues such as the reportedly lenient treatment of Karthik, the driver of Prajwal who is believed to have been the first person to have uploaded the videos on a pen drive.
