An AI chatbot that helps deal with inimical conflicts
It has aroused both curiosity and controversy
The way it works has intrigued people
In the realm of AI chatbots designed to simulate real-life scenarios, a new app named “AngryGF” has stirred up both curiosity and controversy. The app, which features an AI girlfriend expressing anger towards the user, aims to teach individuals how to navigate conflicts within romantic relationships.
Co-founder Emilia Aviles described the app as a tool to help users handle relationship conflicts, particularly with their female partners. “AngryGF” presents users with various scenarios, each with a corresponding “forgiveness level.” The objective is to navigate the situation effectively to calm down the AI partner and achieve a forgiveness level of 100. However, if the level drops to 0, it results in game over.

The mechanics involve choosing appropriate words and actions to influence the AI partner’s mood positively, thus increasing the forgiveness level. Conversely, inappropriate responses can exacerbate the partner’s anger and decrease forgiveness.
Aviles emphasized that “AngryGF” utilizes a gamified approach to empower users to refine essential relationship skills dynamically. While some users may find the concept intriguing, others have expressed skepticism and questioned the app’s purpose on social media.
As “AngryGF” sparks discussions about the intersection of technology and romantic dynamics, its impact on relationship education and the ethical considerations surrounding its implementation remain subjects of debate.
