How can something that happened at the level of a gram panchayat be connected to us?: Parameshwara

Authorisation sanctioned for flag hoisting might be fake

    Investigations are underway

The Minister of Home Affairs of Karnataka G. Parameshwara has responded to claims by the former Chief Minister H.D Kumaraswamy that Congress was the party that ignited flames in the recent conflict pertaining to the replacement of a flag of Lord Hanuman with the Indian flag in the Keragodu region of the Mandya district in Karnataka. “How can something that happened at the level of a gram panchayat be connected to us? How is Congress responsible for this? Within a few days it will become clear who triggered the conflict and who is responsible for the state of affairs,” he mentioned.

Parmeshwar was also asked about the green shawl of the Janata Dal (Secular)(JD(S)) workers being replaced by saffron shawls. “This is left to one’s discretion. They used to wear green shawls at one point of time. At one point they would not shawls at all. The party claimed to be secular back then and still claims to be secular. He should be in a better position to answer this question,” Parameshwara remarked.

Parameshwars highlighted that the permission was sought to hoist the national or state flag. It was mentioned that no religious or political flag can be hoisted. However reports have emerged that the authorisation sanctionedfor flag hoisting might itself be fake. Investigations are underway.
