12th Fail won four awards in the Filmfare Awards

12th fail became the most watched film in 2023 on Disney+Hotstar

I was just blown away by the brilliance of its narrative: Karan Johar

12th fail has earned success not only at the box office but also at the recently concluded Filmfare awards. It won under the categories of Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor (Critics) and Best Screenplay. Leading director Karan Johar was also full of praise for the film. In a live session, when asked by one of his followers about the movie, he said, “Stunning film. Absolutely brilliant. I was just blown away by the brilliance of its narrative by Vinod’s command over craft and all his technician, actors. Vikrant..my god Vikrant was..he just took my heart away with  his portrayal. He was just fantastic. I broke down when I saw that film. The last moment of the film when he falls down on his knees I was like crying as much as he was. He just left me with such emotion in my heart. And with Medha I have to say that we haven’t met Medha but we look forward to meet you. You are so talented. You sing so beautifully.”

The film had earned more than Rs 66 crore within 8 weeks of release although it was made on a budget of Rs 20 crore. 12th fail became the most watched film in 2023 on Disney+Hotstar after its OTT release.
