I am blessed with an affinity for languages: Prithviraj
I have also dubbed Aadujeevitham in Kannada: Prithviraj
Siddharth too dubbed in Kannada for his film Chithha
Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran who played a prominent role in the Prashanth Neel-directorial ‘Salaar’ talked about the process of dubbing in Kannada for the film during an interaction with NewsFirst Prime. “I do not know Kannada, much like I do not know Telugu. I am getting more comfortable with Telugu because I recently shot a film that was primarily shot in Telugu. I have always believed that your voice and how your voice lends itself to the lines you speak comprises a big part of your performance. I am sure my Kannada is not perfect. I have a dialogue coach and I am blessed with an affinity for languages so I am able to enunciate words in multiple languages so I try to get it as close as possible,” Prithviraj stated.
Prithviraj recollected that during his interaction with director Prashanth Neel he was keen about dubbing the film in Kannada as that is a task most non-Kannada actors have not experimented with. “I told Prashanth that regardless of however hard it is, I am going to try and dub it in Kannada. I dubbed Salaar in Kannada. I have also dubbed Aadujeevitham in Kannada. I hope that when you walk in and see the Kannada version of Adujeevitham, if nothing else appreciate the effort (sic),” Prithivraj mentioned. Recently actor Siddharth too dubbed in Kannada for his film Chithha.
