State BJP leaders, including the leader of the Opposition R Ashoka, and general secretary P Rajeev, along with party workers, actively participated in a temple cleaning initiative across various parts of the city on January 14.

The undertaking was organized in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call, in anticipation of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony for Lord Ram scheduled in Ayodhya on January 22. Numerous state BJP leaders were observed wielding brooms and mops to ensure the cleanliness of temple premises.

Following their involvement in the temple cleaning campaign at Vinayaka temple in Jayanagar 4th block, alongside Kolar MP Muniswamy and local leaders, Ashoka informed reporters that a new temple dedicated to Lord Ram was under construction near his office in Padmanabhanagar. The inauguration of this temple is also set for January 22, with Ashoka mentioning the planned elaborate rituals for that day.

Former deputy chief minister Dr. Ashwath Narayan, sharing his thoughts after participating in the cleanliness drive at Kodandarama temple in Malleswaram, emphasized that the Hindu community’s struggle spanning over five centuries was reaching its culmination with nationwide celebrations on January 22, coinciding with the consecration of the temple in Ayodhya.

He appealed to all Hindus to partake in these celebrations, highlighting that Lord Ram and the Ayodhya temple had evolved into symbols of pride for India.
