IndiGo flight forgets offloading all baggage before taking off

Airline expressed sincere regret for inconvenience caused to passengers

IndiGo, India’s leading domestic airline, encountered yet another setback as it overlooked the crucial task of offloading all baggage from an international flight.

Consequently, the flight bound for Bengaluru had to make a hasty return to Changi airport. While the airline owned up to the mistake and extended apologies to the passengers, dissatisfaction and criticism arose from the mismanagement. With a daily operation of nearly 2,000 flights, IndiGo remains the most bustling airline in India.

Following its departure from Changi airport at 5.35 am (local time) on October 18, flight 6E-1006, set for Bengaluru, was compelled to return promptly, owing to the incomplete offloading of luggage from the previous leg in Singapore.

According to flight tracking websites, the Airbus A321neo, after its swift return, took off again at 10.12 am and ultimately reached Bengaluru at 11.44 am (India time), four hours behind schedule.

Addressing the error, IndiGo released a statement acknowledging the baggage mismanagement by their service partners at Singapore airport, leading to the flight’s unexpected return. Passengers were duly kept informed about the delay and were provided with refreshments. The airline expressed sincere regret for the inconvenience caused.

IndiGo, holding the title of the largest domestic and busiest airline in India, independently facilitates the transportation of the highest number of passengers to and from the country.
