IPL 2024: Dhoni becomes part of 150 victories in history of T20

MS Dhoni, the legendary cricketer and former captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), etched his name in the annals of IPL history on Sunday, by achieving a remarkable milestone. Dhoni became the first player ever to be a part of 150 victories in the history of the T20 extravaganza. This feat came to fruition after the Super Kings orchestrated a commanding victory over the SunRisers, bowling them out for a mere 134 runs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Dhoni's illustrious IPL journey spans across 259 matches since the inception of the league in 2008. As a skipper, the 42-year-old holds the record for the joint-most successful captain in the IPL, clinching 5 titles. However, this season saw Dhoni relinquishing the captaincy reins to Ruturaj Gaikwad.

In addition to his leadership prowess, Dhoni's prowess with the bat continues to dazzle spectators. In a cameo appearance during the CSK innings, he contributed a quickfire 5 off 2 balls, elevating his team to a formidable total of 212. Dhoni's versatility was further showcased as he also displayed his skills behind the stumps, taking a catch during the match.

With this emphatic victory, CSK reasserted their dominance in the IPL standings, surging back into the top 4. With 10 points from 9 matches, they currently occupy the 3rd spot, poised for further triumphs under the leadership of their stalwart, MS Dhoni.
