A photo shared by Indian batsman K.L Rahul on the microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter) has been cause for speculations and discussions. K.L Rahul led the Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) in the recently concluded 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).  LSG had won 7 of its 14 matches but failed to qualify for the playoffs. After LSG’s loss against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 10 wickets in Hyderabad, the owner of the LSG franchise Sanjiv Goenk publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with KL Rahul. KL Rahul also failed to secure a spot in India’s World Cup T20 squad. There are growing concerns pertaining to his strike rate.

KL Rahul posted a picture from what is seemingly a garden. A section of fans however interpreted it as signs of him being sad. Fans of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise have expressed their desire to see K.L Rahul return to the franchise. The treatment meted to K.L Rahul by Sanjiv Goenka hasn’t gone down well with a section of fans.

Despite having missed out on a spot in the T20 World Cup, KL Rahul would be a key component of the Indian squad in the other formats of the game.
