Congress high command has reportedly been sent a list by the state unit

List may be announced within the next 2 to 4 days

CEC of BJP had a meeting with state leaders

Preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha Election have begun. Although the candidates have not been announced, both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (INC) have begun strategizing for the election. Both the parties will have crucial meetings in Delhi.

The Central Election Committee (CEC) of INC will discuss candidature on 7th March. It is being reported that the high command has already been sent a list by the state unit. It is being expected that the list will be announced within the next 2 to 4 days. On account of being the ruling party in the state assembly, Congress has declared that they expect to win at least 20 seats.

In the first list of 195 candidates announced by the BJP, none of the candidates from Karnataka were announced. It is being speculated that the reason for this is that the seat allocation between the alliance partner of BJP which is the Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)) had not been finalised. The CEC of BJP had a meeting with state leaders in this regard.
