Karnataka: BJP writes letter to Police Department in light of rising incidents of crime against women

The recurring incidents of crimes against women have been used by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to attack the Karnataka Government led by the Indian National Congress (INC). They have placed the onus of the law and order issue on the ruling government. 

The cases pertaining to murder, harassment including cases that have been registered that have been registered under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) act have been on the rise over the last 3 years. Data from the Karnataka State Crime Record Bureau alludes to this fact. 

In this regard a letter was written to the Police department by BJP. Former Chief Minister D.V Sadananda Gowda  along with other BJP leaders met officials from the police department over this issue. The Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)) has also raised this concern.

Bengaluru is also a region which has become crucial in the network of smuggling of narcotic drugs. The BJP has also raised fingers at the Home Minister of Karnataka Dr G. Parameshwara. The Karnataka Government has 24 seats more than the requisite simple majority. With close to 4 years of rule in their control, how they address this concern remains to be seen.
