To elevate these schools to the standards of private institutions, it has been resolved to transfer the academic responsibilities of the schools to the Education department.

He emphasized that the Education department will take charge of all academic activities, while BBMP will retain responsibility for school buildings, their enhancement, upkeep, and administration. The Education department is set to assume complete responsibility for academic affairs.

Shivakumar mentioned the government’s aim to construct 2000 Karnataka Public Schools at the Hobli and panchayat level, utilizing CSR funds. The land for the initial 500 schools has already been identified.

The government plans to invite private educational institutions to oversee selected Karnataka Public Schools, depending on their capacity. These institutions will be tasked with hiring additional teachers as required and ensuring the delivery of quality education.

At present, corporations have pledged CSR funds amounting to ₹1,900 crores for this initiative. The Karnataka Public Schools will be established at the Hobli or Panchayat level, not at the taluk or district level.
