BJP ties wooing Laxaman Savadi back into its fold

Move comes with Shettar renewing ties

Savadi puts out 5 questions to the party

Close on the heels of Jagadish Shettar renewing his loyalties with the BJP, the BJP is now appearing more sanguine about bringing back Congress MLA Laxman Savadi back to its fold.

Though the saffron party is using all its tricks to woo him, Savadi has put forth as many as 5 questions to it.

Let’s take a look at them:

  • Why did the top brass not give me a ticket from Athani as was promised?
  • Why were the names of two aspirants sent to the high command when the MLA himself was ready for a Vidhana Parishad seat?
  • Why didn’t senior leaders like Basavaraj Bommai, R Ashok, BS Yediyurappa among others not meet me and pacify me when I said I would quit the party?
  • As a sitting MLA from my constituency, I am getting funds for its development easily. If I resign and join the saffron party, a by-election will be held. Considering that I will contest it and win it, do you think it will be as easy getting funds as I become a member of the opposition?
  • Why should I honour you? You have ditched me once earlier. What is the guarantee that you will stand by me in future too, if a difficult situation arises?
