The death of PSI Parashuram under mysterious circumstances has caused shockwaves across Karnataka. His final rites took place at the Somanaala village located in the Koppal district of Karnataka which is Parashuram’s native. His family members were distraught upon the body having arrived. 

There was a demonstration held in Somanaala against the developments. The Minister For Backward Class Development And Kannada And Culture Department in the Government of Karnataka Shivaraj Tangadagi who was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of the Indian National Congress (INC) from the Kanakagiri constituency in the 2023 Vidhana Sabha Elections paid a visit to the Somanaala village during Parashuram’s final rites. 

The final rites took place in a land owned by Parshuram’s family located near a government school. Officials of the Police Department were also present for his final rites.

Parshuram’s wife pointed fingers at INC MLA from Yadgir Chinnareddy Patil Tunnur and his son for having a role in Parashuram’s death. The Karnataka State government has transferred the investigation of Parashuram’s death to the Central Investigation Department (CID). Home Minister G.Parameshwara wrote a letter to the CID DGP requesting an impartial enquiry. An FIR has been filed against Chinnareddy Patil and his son.
