Karnataka: HN Ravindra resigns from Congress due to dissatisfaction over Lok Sabha candidate selection

Even before the announcement of the contestants, discontentment among the party workers of the Indian National Congress (INC) in the Mandya district. Having alleged that the selection has been made in a one-sided manner, the Principal Secretary of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Dr H.N Ravindra has resigned from his post. 

Apart from expressing his discontentment at the process followed to select the candidates, H.N Ravindra also had complaints about the Minister of Agriculture of Karnataka N. Chaluvaraya Swamy. Ravindra was an aspirant for a Congress ticket from Melkote during the Vidhana Sabha election held in 2023. He was however not preferred. He was hopeful about his prospects for a Lok Sabha ticket. This time however, entrepreneur Chandru has reportedly been preferred. “You trusted me with the role of the Principal Secretary. I am grateful to you for that. I have strengthened the party in Melkote, KR Nagar and KR Pete. I had a role in the victory of the candidates. I have a strong sense of independence. I have tolerated humiliation due to the love shown to me. I am resigning since party workers were not consulted before declaring the candidate. I wish well for you,” he stated in his resignation letter.
