Justice Nilay Vipinchandra Anjaria officially becomes the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court following a ceremonial oath-taking administered by Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot at the ‘Glass House’ in the Raj Bhavan.

The event, which took place today, saw the attendance of notable figures including Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti, and Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H K Patil.

Justice Anjaria, previously a Judge of the Gujarat High Court, was recommended for his new role by the Supreme Court Collegium earlier this month. His appointment came after the retirement of Justice P S Dinesh Kumar, who reached the age of 62 on February 24 and thus demitted office.

Having served as a judge in the Gujarat High Court since November 2011, Justice Anjaria brings a wealth of experience to his new position.
