Postal voting for elderly and special needs citizens begins in Chamarajanagar from today as part of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Officials have begun the process by offering the convenience of voting from home, ensuring that every eligible citizen can exercise their democratic right.

With the postal voting window open until April 18, eligible voters above 85 years of age and those with special needs will have the opportunity to cast their ballots discreetly and securely. This initiative extends to constituencies including Bangalore North, Bangalore Central, and Bangalore South, offering a vital alternative for voters unable to visit polling stations.

In Batarayanapura constituency, officials have organized door-to-door visits to facilitate postal voting. Seven teams have been formed to ensure efficient administration, targeting over 400 eligible voters above 85 years of age. Additionally, a voter information team is set to visit eligible citizens’ homes, ensuring that no one misses out on this important opportunity.

Authorities have emphasized the significance of this initiative, recognizing that some citizens may face challenges in accessing traditional polling booths. For those unable to cast their votes during this postal voting period, a second chance will be provided. However, failure to utilize both opportunities will result in forfeiting the chance to vote at the booth on election day.

The postal voting initiative underscores a commitment to inclusivity and accessibility in the electoral process, ensuring that every voice is heard in the upcoming elections.
