Cancellation of trips move to exhort voters

K'taka to vote in phase 1 tomorrow

Voting begins at 7 am and ends at 5 pm

Several private transport organisations in Karnataka have decided not to offer services to citizens on the day of the first phase of polling in the state, on April 26.

As many as 32 companies have decided not to honour several bookings on the day, which may perhaps lead to cancellations to several destinations like Ooty, Chikkamagaluru, Dandeli and other places.

However, this comes with a condition.

If at all you show your inked finger, then you will be allowed to continue your journey. At the same time, no private vehicles like cabs and buses will run till 12 noon.

The decision has been taken in order to prod people to come out of their confines and vote. Karnataka will vote in two phases, the first being tomorrow (April 26) and the second one being on May 7.

Bengaluru, on the other hand, has gained notoriety for not exercising its adult franchise. The voting begins at 7 in the morning and goes on till 5 in the evening.

We urge everyone to come out and vote so that we can choose a stable government, leading to a prosperous nation.

Meanwhile, election officials are readying themselves for the big day.
