With the budget session in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly having commenced, political contests are bound to begin. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are strategizing on how they would corner the government led by the Indian National Congress (INC). The Leader of the Opposition R.Ashok will lead the BJP’s attack against the INC.  

A meeting of BJP legislators was held ahead of the budget presentation. R.Ashok and BJP Karnataka State President B.Y Vijayendra helmed the meeting that discussed points upon which the government can be questioned. 

The points that were raised included the accusation of a demand of commission by the Karnataka State Contractors Association. A delay in the commissioning of grants to Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) was also discussed. The deterioration in the state of maintaining law and order across the state was brought up. BJP leaders will demand action against those who have passed secessionist remarks. The preparedness of the government for the summer season will be examined. The shortcomings in the implementation of the guarantee schemes will be put forward. The deprivation of electricity in villages as well as the increase in electricity prices will be discussed. 

R.Ashok has also provided guidelines for the legislators to follow. These included not entering the parliament well over minor disagreements. They were also asked to only raise relevant issues. They were told to not be dormant. They were cautioned against raising internal complaints in the parliament. They were instructed to be punctual and not waste time by opting to have lunch outside the parliament.
