    Education dept decides to hold spoken English classes

    Move to help children become more fluent in English

    Good English speaking skills can enhance job prospects

With English becoming more and more important in today’s world as the preferred language of communication, its importance can’t be gainsaid.

With a view to embolden government and aided school students to improve their communication skills in English, the Education Department in Karnataka has decided to hold English speaking classes for students up to std 10.

It is learnt that one day in a week (40 minutes) will be set aside for helping students understand the nitty-gritty of the conversations in English. For this purpose, one resource person would also be set aside for the same.

As part of the exercise, spoken English classes, dances, anchoring in English will take place. The sum and substance of such classes is to empower government school students to face the rigours of competitive exams boldly.

Why is English important? 

In India, many multinational companies and organizations require English as the primary language of communication. Consequently, fluency in English can significantly enhance job opportunities and career growth. Additionally, English is the medium of instruction in most universities and educational institutions in the country, making proficiency in the language essential for education and higher studies.
