A sharp drop in temperatures has intensified winter conditions across Karnataka, prompting the weather department to issue an orange alert for nine North Karnataka districts as cold winds sweep the region.

Karnataka is experiencing a strong cold spell, with temperatures dropping suddenly across several regions of the state. The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for nine districts of North Karnataka, warning residents to stay cautious as cold winds and falling temperatures continue to impact daily life.

The alert covers parts of Kalyana Karnataka and North Karnataka, including Kalaburagi, Bidar, Vijayapura, Belagavi, Bagalkote, Haveri, Yadgir, Dharwad, and Koppal. These districts are witnessing cold wind conditions today, with a noticeable dip in minimum temperatures.

Weather officials have advised people, especially the elderly, children, and those with health conditions, to remain alert and take precautions against the cold. According to forecasts, temperatures in these nine districts have already dropped sharply, and further decline is likely in the coming days.

The cold conditions are not limited to North Karnataka alone. Hassan and Chikkaballapur regions are also experiencing unusually high cold levels. In Bengaluru, the maximum temperature has been recorded at 26°C, while the minimum has dropped to 15°C.

In the hilly region of Madikeri, temperatures remain lower compared to other parts of the state, with a maximum of 27°C and a minimum of 13°C recorded.
