Cold wave tightens grip on Karnataka: Yellow Alert for 7 districts, Bengaluru to face chilly days and drizzle

Karnataka is facing a cold wave with Bengaluru shivering under low temperatures. A yellow alert has been issued for seven districts, while light rain is likely in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mandya and nearby regions, says the weather department.

The Meteorological Department has issued a cold wave alert for several districts as Bengaluru and other parts of Karnataka brace for low temperatures and light rain over the next few days.

A cold wave continues to affect large parts of Karnataka, with Bengaluru feeling the chill sharply as temperatures dip across the state. According to the India Meteorological Department, cold conditions are expected to persist for at least the next three days, keeping residents on alert.

The Silicon City of Bengaluru has already been experiencing cold weather, and officials warn that the chill is likely to intensify further. Along with low temperatures, light drizzling is also expected in the city, adding to the discomfort during early morning and late-night hours.

The weather department has issued a yellow alert for seven districts for today. The districts under alert are Davanagere, Haveri, Gadag, Bagalkote, Bidar, Kalaburagi and Vijayapura. Residents in these regions have been advised to remain cautious as cold winds are likely to sweep through the areas.

In addition to the cold wave, light rain is expected in several parts of the state today. Bengaluru Urban, Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar and Ramanagara districts are likely to witness intermittent drizzles. Weather officials have stated that these conditions are due to prevailing atmospheric changes affecting southern Karnataka.

The department has urged people, especially children, senior citizens and those with health conditions, to take necessary precautions against the cold. Farmers have also been advised to stay alert, as the weather changes may impact crops in certain regions.

With cold winds, possible drizzle and alerts in place, Karnataka is set to experience a spell of wintry weather over the coming days.
