Following the announcement of Karnataka Ratna for Vishnuvardhan and Saroja Devi, Ambarish’s fans are urging the government to recognise the Rebel Star with the same honour.
The chorus for honouring Rebel Star Ambarish with the prestigious ‘Karnataka Ratna’ award is growing louder, as fans across Karnataka demand that the legendary actor be posthumously recognised for his immense contribution to cinema and public life.
This renewed call comes soon after the government’s announcement that Sahasa Simha Vishnuvardhan and veteran actress Saroja Devi will be conferred with Karnataka Ratna posthumously. Fans believe Ambarish, popularly known as ‘Ambi,’ rightfully deserves to join this league of icons.

Adding momentum to the demand, actress Tara Anuradha met Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar today and formally urged him to honour the Rebel Star. During the meeting, she reminded the Deputy CM of Ambarish’s close bond with the people and his role as a cultural ambassador for Karnataka.
Ambarish, one of Sandalwood’s most beloved stars, acted in over 200 films and later served as a Member of Parliament and Housing Minister. Known for his fearless personality and deep connect with fans, his contributions extended beyond the silver screen, making him a household name.
Social media is abuzz with fans calling on the state government to make the announcement soon.
