CM Siddaramaiah announces major hiring push to bring relief to unemployed youth across the state
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has delivered welcome news to the state’s unemployed youth, announcing that the government has received approval to fill 24,300 vacant posts across various departments. The Chief Minister shared the update through a written reply in the Assembly, responding to a question raised by expelled BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal.

In his response, Siddaramaiah stated that Karnataka currently has 2.84 lakh vacancies in government departments and government-supported institutions. Of these, the Finance Department has formally approved recruitment for 24,300 posts. He added that all hiring processes will be carried out in phases and strictly in accordance with recruitment rules.
The clarification comes amid growing pressure to address unemployment and speed up government recruitment procedures. The approval marks one of the largest green signals for new hiring in recent years and is expected to provide significant opportunities for young job seekers who have been waiting for fresh notifications.

The Chief Minister said that departments will initiate recruitment as and when required, ensuring that approved posts are filled systematically.
