Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claims deletion of thousands of voter names during 2023 Karnataka Assembly elections, raising questions on electoral integrity.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has raised fresh allegations of electoral irregularities in Karnataka, focusing on the 2023 Assembly elections in the Aland constituency. Addressing a press conference at the AICC office in Delhi, he claimed that thousands of votes, particularly those of Dalit, Adivasi, OBC, and minority communities, were targeted and deleted.

As part of his evidence, Rahul Gandhi released a video showing a woman named Godabai, highlighting how 12 voter names were deleted in just 14 minutes. The deletion was allegedly carried out by a man named Suryakant from Sarsamba village, who reportedly admitted he had no information about the deletions conducted under his name.
During the press conference, Aland MLA B.R. Patil was also present. Rahul Gandhi reiterated that the Karnataka CID had been repeatedly requested to obtain full records from the Election Commission, but only partial information was released in August 2023. Multiple letters were sent to both the Karnataka and central election authorities, but no substantial response has been received.

He also drew parallels with Maharashtra’s Rajura Assembly constituency, alleging 6,850 fake voters were added, while similar manipulations involving fake IDs and phone numbers occurred in Aland. These revelations have intensified scrutiny over electoral processes and voter record management in both states.
