CM Siddaramaiah reaffirmed high command’s support, dismissed leadership change talks, and asserted he will remain CM as directed by party leadership
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has reiterated that the Congress high command remains firmly behind him, dismissing speculation over a possible change of leadership. He emphasized that no decision has been made in the past two and a half years regarding any shift in power and underlined his position as the current Chief Minister.
During the ongoing assembly session, Siddaramaiah delivered an extended address while responding to questions. His lengthy remarks prompted interventions from BJP leaders, who urged him to be more concise. Despite criticism from the opposition, Siddaramaiah clarified that while he may face physical challenges, his political strength remains intact.

The Chief Minister highlighted his track record, noting that he had previously completed a full five‑year term and is now serving as Chief Minister for the second time. He stressed that his tenure continues with the backing of the party leadership and that he will remain in office as long as the high command directs.
Siddaramaiah’s comments come amid persistent speculation about internal power struggles within the Congress in Karnataka. He sought to put an end to the debate by affirming that the high command’s support ensures his continuation in the role.
By reinforcing his position, Siddaramaiah aimed to quell rumors of a leadership tussle and project stability within the state government, asserting that decisions on his tenure rest solely with the party’s central leadership.
